The Speedglas G5 01TW Heavy Duty Flip Up Welding Helmet with Adflo PAPR is the latest release in the G5 (Generation 5) Speedglas range. The TW stands for Tack Welding (different to the G5-01VC which stands for Variable Colour) Like the G5-01VC, this helmet is designed for heavy welders and has a range of new features not previously seen, including the ability to direct airflow to different areas of the helmet, slimmer design easier for confined spaces, additional comfort features in the harness and an optional light for the front of the helmet. The G5-01TW comes with an extra ‘tack welding mode’ which allows the eyes to adjust while tacking, with an intermediate shade instead of returning to shade 3 instantly after a weld. The G5-01 range (both the G5-01TW and G5-01VC) also come with a range of new spares making it a very versatile helmet and gives the welder the ability to either reduce the weight/size of the helmet, or increase their protection by adding extra head protection.
