This is a general-purpose, annealed rod used for welding mild steels. It is characterized by excellent free-running properties & high ductility. R45 is a copper-coated gas welding rod that is used for welding ordinary low-carbon steel up to 1/4” thick. It is recommended where ductility and machine ability are most important. R45 produces high quality welds that are ductile and free of porosity.
