Weldclass PLATINUM NiFe is a popular and versatile NiFe-CI type cast iron electrode for high strength hot or cold welding of grey, malleable, nodular, SG and austenitic cast irons, and cast iron to steel. The weld metal is stronger and more resistant to solidification cracking than pure nickel (Ni-CI) electrodes, and the deposit is fully machinable. An extremely soft, smooth arc with low spatter gives excellent control, and it runs on low OCV machines. This listing is 3.2mm in a handy pack of 9 rods.
Note: Use low current, a short arc and short staggered beads. Pre-heating and slow cooling give the best results on cast iron.
