Weldclass PLATINUM 16XT are hydrogen-controlled E7016 stick electrodes with a special twin flux coating for superior arc stability. They are supplied in foil-sealed 2kg vacuum packs that keep moisture out right up to the point of use, reducing waste and protecting weld quality, because moisture adds hydrogen that weakens the weld. Use them on mild and high strength carbon-manganese steels up to 510MPa where the joint needs more strength than GP rods give, and as a buffer layer before hardfacing.
